Every year during the holiday season, I love to crank up the Christmas music and enjoy spending some time in the kitchen baking seasonal treats for my family. There is almost nothing like it to get you in the holiday spirit. And, as most of you know by now, we moved into our first home earlier this year, so it is an especially exciting time!
We were so grateful to have the place that we did for our first 6 Christmases together; it was the perfect home for us at the time, and we formed so many precious memories there together. Continue reading “White & Whimsical Christmas Kitchen – 2017”
Before we get started, I’m linking up for Jennifer Rizzo’s Holiday Housewalk for next year.
Well, friends, it’s that time of year! The season that so many of us look forward to all year long.
The time for bundling up in scarves and boots to stay cozy while out in the cold winter air. For strolling through the snow with some hot apple cider at a local Christmas market. The time for seasonal baking with your kiddies, and watching Christmas movies while snuggled up on the couch. For enjoying time spent with friends and family at Christmas parties and dinner gatherings. The time for watching from your windowsill as snow falls gently, illuminated by the twinkling lights on houses up and down the street, with your favourite Christmas songs playing in the background. For giving gifts, thoughtfully wrapped up in pretty packaging. And for sharing in meaningful family traditions that bring joy to your heart.
It’s time Continue reading “ARCTIC CHRISTMAS HOME TOUR 2017”
Hi, sweet friends, and happy Monday!
Over this past weekend, my husband and I went all out with decking the halls for the upcoming Christmas season. Troy was very excited about being able to hang Christmas lights on the exterior for the first time, so while he worked outside doing that, I worked inside trimming our trees (yes, we have two trees this year! haha), and hanging garlands. We also watched Elf, as is a tradition of ours after putting up our Christmas tree.
Even though that is the case, I thought I would give you a look at our living room area as I had it set up through the autumn season, before it got all Christmas-ified, following us receiving our new couches! Continue reading “LIVING ROOM COUCHES & STYLING”
Hi, friends! I hope you are all doing well on this chilly Tuesday.
We have been up to our shins in snow since November 1st came, which is typical for our city, and it has me looking forward to the holiday season. It is interesting thinking about being in a new place for the holidays for the first time, though. For the past 5 years, I have been used to having just our one small room to decorate in the apartment we lived in, plus maybe adding a couple of touches to the bedroom. Now, I have an entire home as my canvas for the season! It is both exciting, and daunting, as well as a little bittersweet reminiscing on all of the memories we shared in our tiny, but cozy, home Continue reading “MUDROOM RENOVATION & REFRESH”
Hi, everyone! I know it has been awhile since you have heard from me, so it is good to be back!
At the end of April this year, my husband and I moved into our first purchased home. It has been so exciting, and we have been so grateful, to have a home that is ours – a place we can finally plant some roots and build into – rather than living the rental house life. We have been working to make it feel like ours, and though that has been a slow process, it is so lovely to be able to do. Continue reading “INTERIOR STYLE INSPIRATION”
Hi, friends! Even though up here, where I am in Canada, we still have feet of snow and chilly weather, the time has come where I am so ready for the freshness of spring. It is so nice to look ahead to a new season, and all that it may bring.
This year, I have teamed up with a group of talented bloggers to bring you our Joyful Spring Home Tours for 2017. I am so excited to share this with you, as there is so much inspiration to be found. Everyone’s home is unique to their style and family, and we are all eager to show you how we bring in the season of spring to our everyday lives.
For myself, I have really been craving a more simple style in my decor this year. Continue reading “JOYFUL SPRING HOME TOUR – 2017”
Hi, sweet friends. Well, we are beginning to emerge from of the darkness of winter, and our days are slowly getting longer again, bringing a bit more sunshine to our lives. Though I do enjoy the sun, I have to be honest and let you know that I may be a bit of an anomaly with how much I love cloudy, overcast days. Basically, I want some sun to take my interior home photos, but aside from that I am fine with the clouds. And though a nice sunny, summer drive in the countryside with my guy is so much fun and something I love, give me the rain and the gloominess any day, to cozy up inside with a candle lit and a book in my hand, sipping on some tea (or perhaps a glass of red wine in the evening, let’s be honest), and I will be so content. I feel those overcast weekend days Continue reading “ROMANTIC VALENTINE’S HOME”
