JORD Wood Watch

Hi, friends! I hope your week is going well so far. I am super excited, because today I get to tell you all about my new wood watch. I am a lover of classy, simple accessories, so when JORD asked if they could send me one of their beautiful timepieces to wear and review, of course I said yes!

After searching around the website a bit, I decided on the Frankie Zebrawood & Champagne style. I love the champagne gold on the face of the watch, and the wood is a gorgeous colour with such a nice grain to it. With that being said, there are so many different style options on their site for both women’s watches and men’s watches. From classic and simple, like the piece I chose, to more intricate or bold. There is something for everyone, so I think these watches are a great unique gift idea. JORD also has a handy sizing chart you can use when ordering your watch so that it comes pre-sized to your wrist. That worked out well for me personally, though if it happens to be a little snug they do send a couple of extra links.

When my watch arrived (which was within a week of being shipped, even across the border here to Canada – that’s good in my books), I was eager to open it up right away. It comes in a lovely wood box, which I thought was such a great way to remain congruent with JORD’s brand of handcrafted, wooden pieces. I really appreciate pretty packaging, and attention to detail like that.

I find with putting the watch on that the clasp is really easy to operate. It feels very sturdy and well-engineered. It is also surprisingly comfortable to wear! Previous to owning this piece I didn’t wear watches all that often, so ahead of time I thought with it being wood that it might feel a bit bulky, but for me that isn’t the case! I can wear it all day long.

I’m a fan of a neutral base accessory that can be paired with many outfits, and I have found there really isn’t anything that this watch won’t work with. Wearing it with a few other bracelets is one of my favourite ways to further accessorise it, but I wear it just on it’s own as well. It certainly is a unique statement piece, while still being very elegant.

One thing worth mentioning; because the band of the watch is wood, you do have to be careful around water. The face of the watch is fine to have a little splash of water on it, but the wood band would swell if it got too wet. Just something to keep in mind when wearing this watch (i.e. if you have kids, don’t wear it to the splash park)! For regular days though, or perhaps date night, this watch is a great accessory. I, personally, have been wearing it around most days since I received it!
