CHRISTMAS TABLESCAPE

Hello, everyone! It’s hard to believe we are already a week into December, and everyone is full on getting ready for Christmas. For most, this means not only looking forward to times with family, baking, parties, Christmas movies, and all of those wonderful things, but also thinking about holiday entertaining. In preparation for that, I have teamed up with some wonderful bloggers to bring you a bunch of ideas and inspiration for your Christmas tablescape this year! They will all be linked at the bottom of this post.

This is my first Christmas table set up ever, so I am so excited to share it with you. If you saw my Holiday Home Tour, then you heard about my Christmas decor theme of “rustic-glam”, and how I mixed rustic with the traditional colours of silver and gold. I carried that colour story through into my tablescape as well.

I really had so much fun setting this up. Funny enough, this table is actually my in law’s that we have been borrowing this year. Because our apartment is so small, we hadn’t had a table before this summer, but with wanting to have friends over for meals, it just was no longer acceptable to be forcing people to sit on the couch to eat! It is a gorgeous antique table that they found at a garage sale, and has been serving us well in the mean time. So of course, being a home decorator, the instant we had it I started taking advantage of staging and styling it. You can see my first tablescape blog that was for fall here.

I have been asked a lot about my gold candlesticks in the past. I found them a couple of years ago at a Goodwill, and scored the set of 3 for $3! I thought they would be perfect for the table this season.

I was fortunate enough to be able to get two of these absolutely gorgeous rose gold cutlery sets from Crate and Barrel this year, and they were the perfect thing to use for this tablescape.

I also LOVE these wine goblets that I found at Home Sense this year. I think they add that perfect touch of glam to the table.

I knew probably since the end of summer or early fall that I wanted log slices for chargers for my Christmas tablescape to bring in that rustic feel. We then were at our friend’s wedding at the end of September where they actually used these for their centrepieces, and they graciously let me come and take some to incorporate into my table set up!

My husband didn’t mind letting me use his name in my blog for his place setting 😉

It’s so fun, because as a little family unit of 2, we typically keep Christmas eve dinner to ourselves as a tradition. So, we will be using this table set up that evening for dinner for the two of us! I am so excited for that. We’ll have to light the candlesticks then, too!
