Hi, sweet friends. Well, we are beginning to emerge from of the darkness of winter, and our days are slowly getting longer again, bringing a bit more sunshine to our lives. Though I do enjoy the sun, I have to be honest and let you know that I may be a bit of an anomaly with how much I love cloudy, overcast days. Basically, I want some sun to take my interior home photos, but aside from that I am fine with the clouds. And though a nice sunny, summer drive in the countryside with my guy is so much fun and something I love, give me the rain and the gloominess any day, to cozy up inside with a candle lit and a book in my hand, sipping on some tea (or perhaps a glass of red wine in the evening, let’s be honest), and I will be so content. I feel those overcast weekend days Continue reading “ROMANTIC VALENTINE’S HOME”
I hope you’re having a wonderful week so far, friends! It has been sunny here and the days are getting warmer (“warmer” for us here in the winter means anything above freezing). Though it makes the roads all mucky and slushy, I definitely am enjoying the sunshine.
Well, I had wanted to get to a winter home tour post for January, but I seem to have been spending a LOT more time outside of the house than in lately, which is actually a bit of a fulfilment for one of my goals for the year. Needless to say, I haven’t quite been able to pull everything together for it that I wanted to. I am also doing a collaborative spring home tour that I will be shooting photos for early-mid February, therefore setting up soon, so I thought I would save the home tour energy for that! However, I have wanted to talk about and share some winter florals I am loving Continue reading “WINTER FLORALS & COZY PILLOWS”
Hi, friends! I hope you all had an absolutely wonderful Christmas season. We spent time with both family and friends, and were able to relax a little at home by ourselves while Troy was off work. It was so great!
After the hustle and bustle of the holidays, it has been so nice to slow down a bit, get the house back in order, and contemplate what this brand new year should look like. I am typically not one to set New Year’s resolutions, as I feel that I always want (*ahem*…need) to be looking at areas where I can improve, and operate better in my life and in myself. I think reflecting on those things can Continue reading “A FRESH NEW YEAR”
Hi, friends. Can you believe that Christmas is in just a few days?! 5 sleeps, to be exact. I am so beyond excited. This past weekend we spent some time baking, watching a couple of Christmas movies, and planning a bit of what our time over the holidays will look like with friends and family. My heart is so full.
The last couple of years I have done blog posts on my gift wrapping ideas (here is 2015’s post and 2014’s post). Wrapping Christmas gifts is one of my favourite things, and I have so much fun sharing my gift wrap style with those who choose to read Continue reading “CHRISTMAS GIFT WRAPPING IDEAS”
Hi again, sweet friends. I hope you’re having a lovely week, and a great December so far. As always during this time of year, I am feeling so festive and ready for the holidays.
Today, I am happy to share our Christmas bedroom with you! It’s all cozy and dressed up for the season.
Part of why I love decorating, and why I put so much care into wanting to set up our house in a beautiful manner, is that I feel our homes should be a safe haven, and a place we find rest and retreat. It is so important to me that myself and my husband feel truly at home where we live, and that is why I just love to create a lovely and peaceful space. This is what I began pondering when thinking of bedroom decorating, as those are our primary places of rest! So, I thought what better time to chat about that than our Continue reading “COZY CHRISTMAS BEDROOM TOUR – 2016”
Hello, everyone! It’s hard to believe we are already a week into December, and everyone is full on getting ready for Christmas. For most, this means not only looking forward to times with family, baking, parties, Christmas movies, and all of those wonderful things, but also thinking about holiday entertaining. In preparation for that, I have teamed up with some wonderful bloggers to bring you a bunch of ideas and inspiration for your Christmas tablescape Continue reading “CHRISTMAS TABLESCAPE”
Okay, so I know we aren’t quite there yet, but I’m sure we are all gearing up for the holidays, and no doubt feeling the buzz and excitement that comes with the season. Christmas is my absolute favourite time of year for so many reasons. Watching fun Christmas movies while curled up on the couch with my husband… bundling up in scarves and boots and drinking hot apple cider while taking a walk in the cold winter air… getting to spend so much time with family and friends, while feeling joy in giving gifts and in sharing meals. It’s all so wonderful. I also feel fortunate Continue reading “JOYFUL HOLIDAY HOME TOUR – 2016”
Hi, friends! The Christmas season is upon us, and I am having so much fun getting the house all spruced up for the holidays. This really is the best time of year in my mind.
So, you know when you’re laying in bed at night dreaming up your decor, and suddenly an idea pops into your mind, and then you can’t sleep because you start thinking about all the details of it? No? Just me? I know, I’m a little crazy, but I’m sure my fellow home decor enthusiasts are with me on this one! Anyways, this DIY advent calendar idea was one of those times. Continue reading “DIY CHRISTMAS ADVENT CALENDAR”
Hi, everyone! I hope you’re enjoying the first week of October. It has been nice to have some cooler fall weather the past few days here. It certainly has gotten me settled into the autumn season. I finally picked up my first pumpkin spice latte this past week (I know, I know, I’m super late to hopping on that train this season), and each year I almost forget how delightful they are until that first, blissful sip. Now there’s no turning back! Haha.
I am so excited to share that I am participating Continue reading “FRESH FALL TABLESCAPE”
Hi, everyone! I haven’t posted in awhile, and with fall right around the corner I thought I would just show you some photos that I have taken around our place throughout the summer. These are over the course of the last month or two, but will give you a little glimpse into how our home has been set up during the summer season! I will be honest, I got this idea because last night I brought out Continue reading “LATE SUMMER UPDATE”
