FRESH FLORALS

I can’t believe we are already more than half way through February! I feel like it was just New Years yesterday, so it seems this year is flying by already. Does anyone else feel that way? Anyways, I hope you all had a lovely Valentine’s Day over the weekend. Troy and I hung out together pretty much all weekend, and it was a long weekend with it being Family Day, so that was awesome!
Here in Calgary we have had a really mild winter, and the days seem to be getting even nicer - though, they have not been very sunny, which is a bit unusual here. One thing I love to do when the weather starts warming up is to incorporate some fresh flowers into my decorating. Last week just before Valentine’s day, I happened to find some lovely hydrangeas at the grocery store, so I decided to snap some photos of them! I just thought I would pop in here to share some of those pictures with you all.

As I mentioned already, it has not been that sunny around here. Most days that I have wanted to take photos it has been so gloomy out! Which is usually not that great for interior photos, but I didn’t really mind the moodiness it brought to the scene here.

Looking at these while snuggled up on the couch this week has been so lovely! They have really brightened up the room. Also, I have been loving these pillows I picked up last month from Ikea, though you may have seen them already in my winter decor post.

As you may have seen on my instagram, I also put together a little Valentine’s vignette on our industrial table using these flowers. It was fun to stage and photograph, and to practice my chalkboarding a bit!

I don’t usually do any Valentine’s decorating, but I thought the soft pink hydrangeas worked nicely for a bit of holiday flair this year.

Well, that’s all I have for you today! This post was short and sweet compared to my usual ones. Perhaps that’s a bit refreshing? Haha.
I hope you enjoyed these lovely hydrangeas as much as I do. Feel free to let me know how you have been using fresh florals in your home decorating this season, I would love to know!
I have been working on a couple of other projects around here lately, so I will have another post for you next week about a simple makeover that has made a big impact in our little space. Stay tuned! And thank you for stopping by.
