INTERIOR STYLE INSPIRATION

Hi, everyone! I know it has been awhile since you have heard from me, so it is good to be back!
At the end of April this year, my husband and I moved into our first purchased home. It has been so exciting, and we have been so grateful, to have a home that is ours – a place we can finally plant some roots and build into – rather than living the rental house life. We have been working to make it feel like ours, and though that has been a slow process, it is so lovely to be able to do.

While we are still awaiting our living room couches, and deciding on some furniture for other places in the home (going from a small apartment to a full home can be a bit overwhelming on the furniture side of things), I thought I would talk about what types of styles I have been inspired by lately when it comes to my interior design.

As we have moved into a new place, I have felt as though I can completely zoom out and re-envision what kind of overall aesthetic I would like to achieve in our home.
Since probably the end of last year, I have noticed my design preferences shifting from the usual farmhouse type of decor, towards a more classic and modern style. I am not quite on board with the whole mid-century and boho theme that seems to be all the rage these days, but I have definitely moved in the direction of a more fresh and simple design style.
I am loving keeping my decor minimal and clean, while integrating in some gold accents as well. This, paired with a crisp foundation of whites and light grays, and even some darker metals and textiles, leaves me feeling that our home will be looking bright, fresh, and inviting.

Here are some photos I have found through Pinterest that I am in love with, and am hoping to incorporated similar elements in our home as well.

The light in this living room is so lovely. I dig all the textures used here. And that coffee table…I am trying to find one just like it for our living space as well!

This one above is actually from my friend Katie, at Halfway Wholestic, and I love everything she does! I actually completely copycatted her, and bought that floor lamp from Target for our living room.

Gold circle mirrors are my favourite these days. I found one from West Elm that is hanging over our fireplace. Hopefully I will be able to show you soon!

I love the simplicity of the artwork used in these entryway areas, as well as the crispness of the white and black textiles.

The brightness and simplicity of this shelf styling is so lovely.

I am hoping to be able to create a bright and airy space in our bedroom in our new home, like in these photos.

I am excited to be able to get a light, warm wood toned dining table and to pair it with a statement fixture like this!

The home we purchased is about 3 years old, and I am happy to say that the couple before us who built it opted to go with a white farmhouse sink and a beautiful, tall, arched gold sink faucet like the one above.

I hope you have enjoyed this gallery of home design photos that have been inspiring me in my decorating lately. If you did, you might like to see more on my Pinterest board. I am always finding new ideas on there, so feel free to follow along, or share pins with me!

Our mudroom is on the verge of being complete – I am just waiting for the hooks I ordered to come in at the end of the month. After that I will be so excited to share it with you! My father in law built it for us, and it is an area of our home I am in love with.
Additionally, though we are still waiting for some furniture pieces (and me to decide where to hang things on walls), I have taken a few photos of our home set up so far. Hopefully I will be able to check back in next week or so to share some of those with you!

Thanks for stopping by today.

*Once again, all of these images are collected from Pinterest and are not my own designs. I have just gathered them to create a little inspiration gallery.
